What makes a backup route genuinely different?

Do not only change one interchange. Avoid the same affected corridor where possible, and define the time or condition that triggers switching.

Treat arrival and exit as separate trips. Write down the walking exit, meeting point and an escape route that does not depend on the same station.

Final two minutes: charge the phone, use one consistent payment method, share the backup with companions and set the trigger for switching routes.

Why this check matters now

17–19 Jul event search and social leads repeatedly ask how to get there, whether it will be crowded and how to leave. These are demand signals, not live status.
MSS’s 16–30 Jul outlook expects short thundery showers on most days, with more widespread storms possible on some days. Unsheltered walks and feeder legs need to be optional.

Watch-outs and exit conditions

Social screenshots, chat messages and saved maps are leads only. Use official notices, current signs and staff for today’s status.
A map’s “fastest” route may not be the most stable family route; one fewer transfer or sheltered walk can matter more.
For major events, plan exit separately from arrival. A different station, meeting point or short walk may be safer.
A thunderstorm forecast is not a point guarantee, but do not wait outdoors when lightning is present.
