Singapore room rent utilities split: bill checklist + calculator

Shared house में fight अक्सर total पर नहीं, बल्कि किस charge का है, कौन-सी dates का है और कौन-सा rule agreed था—इस पर होती है। यह page किसी का price तय नहीं करता। यह original bill, billing period, people, aircon और fixed charges को अलग करके payment से पहले reconciliation कराता है।

Payment से पहले: 5 checks

Original bill या clear screenshot लें: account holder, billing period, due date और payable total दिखना चाहिए.
पुराना arrears, late fee, installation fee, deposit और इस period के बाहर के one-off items अलग करें.
Electricity, water, gas, refuse charge और Wi‑Fi सभी included हैं या नहीं confirm करें; सिर्फ “utilities” कहना पर्याप्त नहीं है.
Written rule follow करें: equal share, occupied days या pre-agreed percentage/aircon rule.
Due date से पहले सबको वही calculation भेजें; bill और calculation screenshot save रखें.

तीन common methods (पहले agree करें, फिर pay करें)

October 2026 planning anchor—आपका quote नहीं

SP Group tariff page July–September 2026 के लिए regulated domestic electricity tariff 31.91¢/kWh before GST दिखाता है। Quarterly tariff, retailer plan, landlord charge और actual usage same चीज़ नहीं हैं। One room के लिए shared utilities का S$60–160/month conservative planning range रखें, फिर first actual bill से calibrate करें।

Split को distort करने वाली चीज़ें

Aircon hours, water heater, dryer और WFH consumption बदलते हैं; साथ रहने का मतलब automatic equal use नहीं।
Fixed Wi‑Fi, cleaning या admin fee utilities नहीं भी हो सकते; साथ collect हों तो item और amount अलग list करें।
Landlord/main tenant written formula use कर सकते हैं, लेकिन billing period और total देखे बिना payment request accept न करें।
Account owner/main tenant के नाम पर हो तो payment और receipt पूछें; यह अपने आप SP account खोलने की advice नहीं है।

FAQs

अगर rent में utilities included नहीं हैं तो minimum क्या देखूँ?

Current original bill/readable screenshot, billing period, total और split formula। फिर Wi‑Fi, gas, refuse fee, old arrears या aircon cap included हैं या नहीं confirm करें।

Equal headcount split हमेशा fair है?

नहीं। Similar occupancy और clear rules में ठीक है। Mid-period stay या written percentage हो तो days/percentage अधिक auditable है।

क्या यह legality या dispute solve कर सकता है?

नहीं। यह communication और arithmetic worksheet है, legal advice नहीं। Material contract, deposit या dispute में evidence रखें और suitable independent help लें।
