Weekend / what to do / rain-safe planning

What to do in Singapore this weekend (22–24 May 2026): rain-safe plans + quick checks

This is not a “everything happening” list. It’s a practical weekend decision page: pick one of three templates (rain-safe indoor, arts night, low-budget recharge) and run two quick checks that matter this week—TEL weekend adjustments (from 22/23 May) and the late-May thunderstorm pattern.

Three templates (choose one, don’t over-plan)

Template A: rain-safe half-day (low friction)

Item What it means
Best for Families, older visitors, or anyone who hates getting soaked mid-commute.
Route structure One indoor anchor (museum/exhibit/indoor fair) + nearby meal stop + 30 minutes buffer.
Key move Check the daily forecast before leaving; if evening storms are likely, do outdoor bits in the morning.
  • Avoid cross-island hopscotch. Rain + transfers destroys the experience.

Template B: arts night (SIFA direction)

Item What it means
Best for A single “one good thing” Friday or Saturday night.
Route structure Early dinner + one show/activity + return trip buffer (don’t cut it to the last train).
This week TEL ends at 11:30pm on Fridays during affected windows—write your fallback route before you go.
  • Always verify timings and tickets on official pages. SGBook doesn’t promise availability.

Template C: low-budget recharge (easy to switch for heat/rain)

Item What it means
Best for Budget-conscious weekends that still need movement.
Route structure 8–11am outdoor (park/trail/playground) + midday indoor rest (library/mall/café).
Watch-out Late-May storms are common: keep afternoons indoor; bring repellent near greenery/water.
  • If your area is near an active dengue cluster, repellent is not optional.

Two quick checks before you leave

  • Transport: if you need TEL late Friday / early Saturday, verify affected dates and shuttle routes first.
  • Weather: expect more thundery showers in late May—write down an indoor backup and an early-exit plan.
