Newcomers के लिए library सिर्फ books borrow करने की जगह नहीं होती. यह low-cost family outing, air-conditioned study space, English reading exposure और weekly routine बन सकती है। यह page NLB membership को practical setup checklist में बदलता है.

सबसे कम friction वाला signup route

  • अगर आपके पास Singpass है, तो valid documents वाले foreigners online sign up/renew कर सकते हैं।
  • NLB कहता है registration या renewal के समय supporting document कम से कम 3 months valid होना चाहिए।
  • Common document types: Student Pass, Work Permit, Employment Pass, Dependant Pass, Special/Visitor’s Pass.
  • अगर Singpass नहीं है, या online flow आपके case को support नहीं करता, तो library counter पर जाएँ (Chinatown Library छोड़कर)।

Membership के बाद library को सच में कैसे use करें

Scan-to-Borrow myLibrary ID से sign in करने के बाद app में barcode scan करके physical items borrow कर सकते हैं।
eCard / Borrowing Station अगर station use करना हो, app की eCard QR code scan करके borrow करें।
Bookdrop returns NLB के अनुसार public-library items किसी भी public library bookdrop में return किए जा सकते हैं; hours पहले check करें।

Watch-outs

  • Singpass नहीं है तो online flow पर अटकने के बजाय in-person help जल्दी लें।
  • Short stay है तो annual के बजाय monthly option compare करें।
  • Closest branch और bookdrop hours check किए बिना membership लेना half-useful रह सकता है।
  • School-going kids के लिए value borrowing count से ज्यादा weekly consistency में है।
