Singapore bulky item disposal: mattress, sofa, appliance और e-waste routes

Bulky disposal में सबसे common गलती truck book न कर पाना नहीं है, बल्कि mattress, sofa या old appliance को corridor में रखकर बाद में सोचने का plan बनाना है। Safer तरीका है item type पहले clear करना: general bulky waste, replacement appliance, या bulky e-waste.

Item type Best first route Note
Mattress, sofa, wardrobe, desk, chairs, general bulky furniture HDB में Town Council से शुरू करें. Condo में management/MCST से शुरू करें. बाकी cases में अक्सर Public Waste Collector या licensed waste collector लगेगा। NEA के अनुसार other bulky items के लिए estate के PWC से contact करें; अलग fee लगती है।
Replacement के साथ old appliance अगर same type का नया appliance खरीद रहे हैं, retailer से one-for-one takeback पहले पूछें। NEA e-waste route में like-for-like retailer takeback clearly listed है।
Bulky e-waste जो normal bins में fit नहीं होता Town Council bulky service, ALBA doorstep collection, ALBA depot, या collection drive देखें। Oversized electrical items के लिए safer route यही है।
Reusable item Direct disposal से पहले donation, resale, या repair देखें। अक्सर यह cheaper और easier होता है।

Housing type के हिसाब से first step

Home type Start with Why
HDB Town Council से शुरू करें। HDB guidance कहती है bulky items के लिए Town Council contact करें और chute/common areas में items न छोड़ें।
Condo / private apartment Management / MCST से शुरू करें। कई condos में lift protection, staging windows और pickup points के internal rules होते हैं।
Landed / other Estate के Public Waste Collector या licensed waste collector देखें। NEA के अनुसार general bulky removal के लिए PWC route और separate fee common है।

Conservative workflow

  1. Item की photo लें और size समझें ताकि general bulky vs bulky e-waste clear हो।
  2. अगर replacement appliance है तो retailer one-for-one takeback पहले पूछें।
  3. HDB में Town Council, condo में management, बाकी में PWC/licensed collector identify करें।
  4. Booking time, staging rules, fees, और presence requirement confirm करें।
  5. Collection window नजदीक हो तभी item designated spot पर रखें — कई दिन पहले नहीं।

Regular refuse fee और bulky removal same नहीं हैं

  • NEA के अनुसार 1 July 2024 से HDB/private apartment households के लिए regular refuse collection fee S$10.20/month (GST सहित) है. इसका मतलब bulky removal automatically included नहीं है।
  • General bulky items के लिए NEA route अलग fee की बात करता है जब PWC service use होती है।
  • Lower-cost routes आमतौर पर Town Council service availability, retailer takeback, या donation/resale होते हैं।

High-risk mistakes

  • Item को common corridor में days तक छोड़ना।
  • Large appliance को normal trash की तरह treat करना।
  • Replacement appliance लेते समय retailer takeback पूछना भूल जाना।
  • Building/Town Council staging rules skip करके item दो बार move करना।
